Scotland’s capital, Edinburgh, comes alive in August, playing host to a month long, internationally renowned celebration of the arts. And there is nothing better on a warm August afternoon than strolling up the Royal Mile, watching the street performers and soaking up that unique festival atmosphere.
The other major happening in Edinburgh in August is the Edinburgh Royal Military Tattoo, an amazing spectacle of music and dance that takes place in the open air on the
parade ground of Edinburgh Castle. A highlight every year is the Massed Pipes and Drums, which is a stirring sight no visitor would want to miss.
